I am a former lawyer, now working as a sales representative with Royal LePage Team Realty in Ottawa. I was considered an expert in Aboriginal law and negotiations for most of my thirty-year career in law.
I studied Negotiations at Harvard in 1993, and taught Negotiations and Mediation at Queens University as well as Property Law at the University of Ottawa.
My father was a carpenter who also built additions and occasionally houses so I grew up with the smell of sawdust. Years ago, I ran an antiques store called Country Roads that was mentioned in Style at Home magazine because of its beautiful lay-out and staging.
And so despite my legal background, when it was time to consider something new, real estate was a natural for me. (And yes, I am also Peggy Blair, the mystery author, which really helps when it comes to writing up my listings, believe me!)
I hold regular seminars on downsizing in conjunction with TD Canada Trust; you can find details on my website. I also host a TV show on Rogers (Cable 22) called Ottawa Experts: Real Estate — I hope you’ll tune in sometime and if you have any questions, email me or DM me on Twitter — we’ll answer them on-air. If I can be of any assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d be happy to walk through your home with you and provide suggestions on how to get it ready for sale.
My tag line, not surprisingly, is: If you want it done right, ask a busy person!
