Last year, I teamed up with lawyer, Norm Bowley, and mortgage broker, York Polk, to offer free Lunch and Learn seminars on downsizing.
We were surprised at how popular they were, but I guess there are a lot of boomers out there thinking about when and how to go about it, and what to do with all their stuff.
Our seminars were so successful that we were approached by senior financial planner, Sylvia Manning, at TD Waterhouse about doing them in conjunction with her. And so this Wednesday, York and I will be meeting with some of Sylvia’s clients to talk about how to go about downsizing, and how to deal with the emotional and logistical issues around it.
The seminar is on between 12 and 1 at the TD Emerald Plaza at 1547 Merivale Road, Ottawa, and Sylvia will have sandwiches and coffee on hand. (Who says there’s no such thing as a free lunch?)
Then on Thursday, Norm (who will be just back from Halifax), York, and I will do the same thing at the second floor boardroom at 1335 Carling. We’ll probably have pizza. So if you’re at all interested, let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll save you a spot!
